The rain come back again........

After the school break, two weeks spent for English Pro-ELT course ends with a double happiness for me. Pass with flying colors and got a lot of new idea for teaching English Primary School. Edger to return to SK Naradan bring an upsetting feeling when I saw the Kepuakon River flooding like a tsunami.. I have to return back to Ranau. What a mess!!! Two hours journey ends with nothing!! Every Friday when I return to home, my mind keep on thinking about the next Monday... What about the river? Is it flooding or not? What is the condition of the roads? Bad or good? There were thousand matters arises!! and surely I don't like this feeling whereby it make brain non-stop thinking...

I thinks that the weather is going mad again...La pace del Signore sia con tutti voi!  and hopping that the weather came back to normal again soon. The sentence that being bold and italic above was a copy and paste from a Rev Fr Rayner Basius FB which I really admire him. I will write about him soon but not in this blog. The sentence mean... Peace of God be with you all or in Malay Language "Damai Tuhan Bersama Anda Semua" It is the kind and motivating sentence for me to face the future ahead. Huh the rain come back again... it bring a lot of problem to the teacher in SK Naradan. Anyone can help us to ease up our problem?

Nevertheless, I have to full fill my duty. No matter happen, I must achieve my goal for BI, UPSR with five out of 17 got A and 10 got C and the rest got D. That will increase our school GPS and hopefully this will become my asset when I applying for transferal soon. I will see you soon.

"Instructions"

1. Introduce the concept of a "main idea." Read a short paragraph to the children. Ask the children to state in one phrase or sentence what the main idea of a story is. Practice summarizing main ideas by reading short stories or fables, asking the children what good titles to the story would be (such as, "Don't Be Selfish!" or "John's Trip to the Store").

2. Ask children to demonstrate listening by predicting the end of a story. Point out contributions that could not be possible according to previously disclosed facts. For instance, if you ask children to predict the end of "Three Little Pigs" you might point out that a prediction of "They run to the straw house!" would not make sense since the straw house was already blown down by the wolf.

3. Encourage children to listen for unfamiliar words and raise their hands to ask for definitions to increase their comprehension.

4. Play a record or tape recording of a children's song. Quiz the children on the song after playing it for the class.

5. Practice learning foreign words that require careful listening. Teach the class to count to 10 in Spanish, repeating the Spanish numbers after you as you say them.

6. Ask children to listen to a set of instructions (such as how to make a simple craft). Ask children to write down notes and then gather them into groups to compare notes and create a group guide to the topic.

7. Play listening games like "Simon Says" or "Hokey Pokey," varying your instructions so that children have to listen closely to succeed.
